Joan Buts bewitched a Mary Farmer to death, and did the same to an Elizabeth Burrige, the Farmers went to a Dr. Bourn who advised them to burn their child’s clothes to make the witch appear, and she did, Elizabeth reported leaving her master’s house to see a goose coming towards her, bringing her mistress outside they were attacked with stones, she pulled a piece of clay out of her mistress’ back, the next morning she saw Joan Buts, she plead innocent and was found not guilty.

Ioan Butts came to the house of Mr. Tuers when only his servant Elizabeth Burgiss was home, first asking for gloves and then later a pin, two weeks later stones were thrown into the house that only struck Elizabeth, Mr. Tuers pulled a piece of clay full of pins from her back, she then reported seeing Butts when other could not, leaves off with Elizabeth’s mother confronting Butts.
A short letter addressed to someone anonymous, a daughter has been afflicted by her father’s servant, she was apprehended but upon confessing about other witches tormenting her tongue would be drawn out of her mouth, she vomited hay and coal and hair, but was finally able to report other witches who were apprehended and confessed.
